Observing Nature - top

Be still, quiet, and look closely it is here…whether you are a simple observer, bird watcher, or photographer the nature here will amaze you.  The local flora and planted fruit trees attract a huge variety of creatures to the farm like monkeys, sloths, pumas, scarlet macaws, and the list can go on for pages. Make sure to have your flashlight with red light to see sea turtles that you may find nesting on the beach at night.

We have marked 5 different trails inside our refuge for you.

Sustainability - top

Sustainability – join us on a free tour of the farm or get a bit more involved by volunteering in the garden, kitchen, or construction to learn how our choices and actions are creating a sustainable environment.

Hiking - top

Explore the famous Corcovado for its nature wonders or enjoy many hikes at or near Finca Exotica that take you to primary forest, cool waterfalls, ocean viewpoints, tranquil rivers, remote pristine beaches, lagoons or the garden.  There are 7 hikes covering over 14km within or around Finca Exotica.

Nature Sports - top

Do you like to swim, surf, boogie board or fish? Everything you need is here for these water sports.  You can enjoy them here or go down the road to Matapalo for excellent waves.  Fishing is great at the lagoon or Carate River mouth.  There will be a fee for surf board rental and lessons.  The swimming fins, fishing poles, and boogie boards are free.

Relaxing - top

Relax in a hammock or on a palm mat at the beach, garden or anywhere you find comfortable.

Wellness - top

Invigorate the body and mind in one of our scheduled yoga classes, hike briskly along the beach, or enjoy a massage.

Reading - top

Explore our library with that has a good variety of books for you to learn about the Osa nature, permaculture, bamboo construction, gardening, architecture, cooking, Central American history, farm design, biology, medicinal plants, jungle life, solar living, geography, self help, life stories, and more.

Games – play - top

Pool, board games, volleyball, speed badminton and jungle Frisbee while you are surrounded by the jungle orchestra.

Music - top

Are you ready to jam or just have some fun with our marimba, drums, shakers and more? We love to sit around and play some tunes.

Art - top

Are you interested to create pottery, carve wood, body paint, build with bamboo, or carve toys?  Kids will enjoy our colored pencils and drawing paper. Draw for free or enjoy the others with a small fee for materials and instruction.
