Finca Exotica is equipped to meet all of your needs – be it on a romantic couple’s escape, a group retreat, a professional conference or a family vacation. Our facilities surround our central meeting place, Casa Grande, which hosts the restaurant with a communal dining table and stretches out to encompass an amphitheater suited for presentations and lectures by day and dance parties by night.  Cabins and other facilities stem out from this centerpiece to provide easy access near the beach, an isolated meditation ambiance and quaint trails that lead you through the labyrinth of exotic plant life.

Casa Grande - top

After many years of existing only in Markus’ imagination, this sustainably built edifice manifested itself in February of 2010.  The crew of builders and collaborators joined forces to harvest bamboo from the farm, collect ‘wood scraps’ from tropical hardwoods, and design a building that, using the pacific breeze and bright tropical sun, requires very little energy input.  This jungle headquarters is outfitted with a first class kitchen, hammocks, handmade furniture, a disco ball and an observation deck - here we eat, play, stargaze, dance, laugh, relax, bird watch, read books and join together to contemplate it all.

Beach House - top

This is a great hang out and watering station for a day at the beach.  This is located right across from the beach and is equipped with fresh water, lemonade, beach towels, a bathroom, hammocks, board games, tide charts, sustainability information, a pool table and more.  Oh yeah and all the beach toys are here like fins, boogie boards, and surf boards.

To provoke deep reflection and learning on topics of interest like health and well-being, sustainable living, green architecture, and the meaning of life, we provide an extensive collection of literature in our library.
Some themes include:

• Permaculture, organic farming
• Tropical architecture, design and landscaping
• Tropical Medicinal Plants
• Culinary guides
• Wellness topics like massage, reiki and cultivating awareness
• Travel guides for Costa Rica, Panama, Nicaragua and other Latin American countries

Event Planning - top

Plan a Wedding, Event, Workshop, Seminar, Anniversary, Conference or Retreat

We have the experience, facilities and desire to help you have the greatest wedding, birthday party, yoga retreat, music concert, permaculture class, cooking class, theatrical performance, gardening class, pottery class, bamboo construction workshop, or more. Whether you want to carve a Tiki or host a beauty workshop, let us know so we can be ready with supplies when you are inspired to be creative. We welcome any size group up to 24 people and are always ready to spontaneously organize a workshop.

You can schedule a private retreat or allow your event to be open to visiting customers. If you are planning a retreat we request your group be at least 10 people.
