BIRD WATCHING IN CORCOVADO
Besides enjoying the views, the privacy of your cabin and exploring the depths of relaxation, we have plenty of activities for you to enjoy nearby, and bird watching in Corcovado is a great option!
WHY BIRD WATCHING?
Corcovado National Park, hosting an incredible 2.5% of the world’s biodiversity, including more than 375 species of birds. Here you can find not only eagles, vultures and hawks, but truly exotic birds like toucans, tanagers, and scarlet macaws, making Corcovado a birdwatching paradise.
These birds can be found in the park, but also all throughout our property. You can wake up to see humming birds buzzing around your cabin indulging in one of our many flowers, and you can share lunch with the scarlet macaws that frequent the almond tree growing right through our terrace.
¨Birding¨ can be done with the naked eye, through a visual enhancement device like binoculars or a telescope, or by listening for bird calls. It often involves a significant auditory component, as many bird species are more easily detected and identified by ear than by eye. Hiring an experienced guide greatly increases your chances of seeing a wide variety of the exotic birds in the surrounding rainforest.
There are many guides in the area that specialize in finding birds, and we are happy to arrange a tour for you. Guides come equipped with viewfinders for spotting birds, and years of expertise learning how to listen for and locate many different species. This is a great option for wildlife photographer hobbyists, families, or anyone interested in seeing the many species of birds that live in the Osa Peninsula!
Tour Rate: $ 50 USD + 13% IVA per person. Includes Naturalist Guide. Duration 2-3 Hrs.
